Big Books by Yuval Zommer

We love books in our house, especially ones that help explain the amazing and fragile world we live in.

These are some of our favourite books of the moment….

1. The Big Book of Bugs by Yuval Zommer

The book is full of beautifully large illustrations of various bugs from spiders to praying mantis’ and ladybirds.

The illustrations are full of detail and so much to look at, we love exploring the images and pointing out what we can see.  There are also things to spot on each page which is always great for little ones’ engagement.  We normally read a couple of different bugs each night at bedtime! This is just one of those books to keep and admire and love reading together.

2.  The Big Book of the Blue by Yuval Zommer

This book is again beautifully illustrated, giving facts and images of some of the oceans most majestic creatures.  The pages aren’t overloaded with too much text that you can’t enjoy the pictures and discuss what you see, which is what our two love to do.

The book also explains why we need to care for our seas and the issues with plastic; not in an over bearing way but it is great to introduce this to little ones so they are always aware of what we can all do to help look after our fragile planet.

3. The Big Book of Beasts by Yuval Zommer

I couldn’t not get this book for my bear loving little guy.  This book is great in that it includes all the usual suspects, bear, lions, tigers but also includes some different beasts such as sloths!

There are loads of interesting facts that I often say “well I didn’t know that!”  The information isn’t too difficult for pre-school age to comprehend and there also isn’t too much for them to be overloaded.  I just love the beautiful images and exploring the pictures together.  We love the little activities to do on the pages too.
