Having never been to Flamingo Land before we didn’t know what to expect, well what a day out, the park is absolutely huge!! There is an incredible amount of things to do and see, we arrived when it opened and stayed until it closed and still didn’t see or ride everything!

There are the theme park rides, a really incredible zoo, farm, reptiles, aquarium, seals, shows, there is something around every corner!

Theme Park Rides
There are massive white knuckle rides for grown ups and older children, big rollercoasters with massive inversions and you can even experience 4g! I was really impressed with the amount of huge rides with the thrill factor to choose from.
There’s a great choice of different rides- Hero where you feel like you’re flying, Mumbai Jumbo which was the world’s steepest rollercoaster, Velocity the world’s only motorbike launch rollercoaster, Kumali which reaches 56mph, the newest thrill seeking rollercoaster Sik with its incredible 10 inversions!!
Make sure you check height restrictions before going. My 8 year old was able to go on some of the larger rides which she absolutely loved, including the 150ft high Pterodactyl!

There are also plenty of rides and rollercoasters for the smaller theme park visitors too, plenty of thrills for the younger thrill seekers!

We went on loads of rides in Dino-Stone Park in particular where we spent a lot of time, there were never huge queues so we went on numerous times!

The little guy was thrilled to be able to ride the Dino Roller from the front!

My personal favourite ride was the Twistosaurus and the little guy enjoyed taking me on the Cyclosaur!

The kids favourite was Splash Battle where they got to fire water cannons, and they in turn got soaked, they got drenched but loved it! (There are large driers if you do get very wet!)

There is a great train the Daktari Express that travels around the park with a number of stations so you can jump on and off and rest your legs. A great way to get to see the park from the comfort of the train. There is also

Zoo
The zoo is really impressive in its own right! There are so many animals to see and they were all happy to show there faces to visitors!

Tigers, cheetahs, lions, flamingos, wallabies, kangaroos, zebra, giraffes, red panda, ….our favourites included hippo, rhinos, penguins, the baby Vicugna.

The cheetahs were just lounging on the grass in front of us, amazing!

We also really enjoyed the Children’s Planet area with the reptiles, otters, meerkats and other fascinating animals.

There is also a brilliant adventure play area here too, the kids could have stayed here for hours!

There is a seal show, bird show and keeper talks throughout the day, check out times on the app or website so you don’t miss them!

We also found an aquarium as we were exploring the zoo! There is so much to see, there is even a Zoo Monorail to get a different view of the animals from above.

Muddy Duck Farm
The farm area includes not only farm animals but there’s rides too! This is an especially lovely area for the younger visitors.

The Peter Rabbit Adventure includes an adventure playground, nature discovery area and you can even meet Peter Rabbit!

Facilties
There are plenty of places to eat and drink across the park. From fish and chips to pizza, check the map for what you may like. There are places to get drinks and vending machines for drinks and snacks too. There is even a smart pub The Coach House, Metropolis Bar & Grill and Pitchers Sport Bar.
We found the prices reasonable for a theme park and the food great quality.
Everywhere was kept very clean and tidy, which is excellent considering how many people are visiting the park. All the Flamingo Land team were very friendly and helpful too!
Tips
Get there early to go on your favourite rides before the queues build up.
From about 4pm the park got a lot quieter and the queues for rides were a lot smaller.
There are plenty of places for food and drink. We took a picnic but bought food too and found it not overly expensive and really great quality.
Make sure you check out the map to make sure you visit all the areas you want to see. Without the map we wouldn’t have found areas like the Reptiles and Peter Rabbit Nature Discovery.
Water rides-you definitely get wet! Save until the end of the day and take a change of clothes in the car!
Use the train to get around the park and enjoy the view.
Check the website for special events and you can also stay at the park which means you get longer to enjoy all the attractions!
